OUR
NEED OF SALVATION
Romans Chapter 3 verse 3 states,
‘For all have sinned and come short
of the glory of God.’ The meaning of
this text is clear and plain. Without
exception we have all sinned against
God.
Many refuse to recognise their
personal need of salvation. They
fondly believe that since they are no
worse than others they will be alright
when they meet God in death and judgment.
The above text reveals the folly of
such a notion. Some think that they
are better than others not realising
that the Bible states that ‘all or
righteousnesses are as filthy rags’
(Isaiah 64:6). The Word of God reveals
our fallen state and brings home to us
our need of God’s Salvation. Without
God’s saving grace we shall end up
in a lost eternity where there is
‘weeping and wailing and gnashing of
teeth’ (Matthew 13:42)
THE LOVE OF GOD FOR US
In Romans Chapter 5 verse 8 we read,
‘But God commendeth His love toward
us, in that while we were yet sinners,
CHRIST DIED FOR US.’ God the Father
Who loved us in spite of our sins,
sent His Son Jesus Christ to die as
our substitute on Calvary’s cross.
We have sinned but Christ was punished
for our sins. ‘He was wounded for
our transgressions’ (Isaiah 53:5)
Take time to consider the many sins
you have committed. Jesus Christ bled
and died to save us from the eternal
judgements of God, which we so rightly
deserve.
THE WAY OF SALVATION
Having recognised your need of
salvation, and having understood what
Christ accomplished on Calvary’s
Cross for us, I exhort you to pray for
God’s salvation. All that is
required is to be found in 1 John
Chapter 1 verse 9, which states, ‘If
we CONFESS our sin He is faithful and
just to FORGIVE US our sins and to
CLEANSE US from all
unrighteousness.’
Upon confession of your sins to God in
prayer, God guarantees to pardon your
sins and to cleanse away the
uncleanness of you unrighteous life.
May you be reconciled to God today
through Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, ‘No man cometh unto the
Father but by Me.’ (John 14:6)
